Windows 11 said your PC "NO"? Here's what that popup actually means

#windows-11#upgrades#honest-advice

If you've seen the warning — *"This PC doesn't currently meet Windows 11 system requirements"* — you've probably also seen the $800+ laptop the big-box store would love to sell you next. Here's the part they don't mention: that popup is often a sales pitch wearing a lab coat.

What the check actually looks at

Three things, mostly: TPM 2.0, a recent CPU generation, and Secure Boot. Two of the three can quietly be enabled in your BIOS at zero cost — and many machines flagged "incompatible" pass with flying colors once someone looks inside.

  • TPM 2.0: present on most PCs from 2016 on, sometimes just disabled
  • CPU: check your exact model before trusting the popup
  • Secure Boot: usually a settings toggle, not a hardware limit
"Fear sells laptops. I'd rather sell you the truth."

What I'd check for you

A $75 honest diagnosis: full check, complete backup before anything is touched, and a straight answer. If your machine truly can't run it, I'll say so. If it can, the check is credited toward the upgrade work.
